Bari to Durres to Thessaloniki

We followed roads through Tilaj and to the dam although we missed the right turn on a farm track at point 2 (see map in the Via Egnatia on Footguidebook). We worked our way back by cutting across on a side trail. The walk from there to Helmas was pleasant, up and down, following a stream for part of the way. At Helmas we enjoyed a stop at a bar for some water and coffee. Then back along the road a bit, and down the hill to a tricky river crossing. We managed to get across the river, then were challenged in getting up the hill without wading through the blackberry bushes. After this it was an easy walk, first into Memzote and then into Kryeuz. Along the main road In Kryeuz we found a hotel, the Hotel Wedding Palace Advin, a palatial wedding sort of place where we may have been the only guests. There is a different hotel marked in the book, probably the Restorant Hotel Vellezerit Ajdini. To reach this you will need to cross the divided highway at an overpass near where you reach the highway.

Note that many of these places (Kryeuz, Memzote, and the Wedding Palace Advin for example, don't --as of 2017--appear on Google maps).
